About ACT Score Calculator
ACT Score Calculator is a free, independent study tool for Enhanced ACT composites. It is not an ACT website and it does not issue official score reports.

What this site does
Four tools share one verified dataset. Each page does a different job:
- The ACT Score Calculator home page compares the composite range produced by the four supported practice-test scoring keys.
- The ACT Test Calculator converts scored correct-answer totals for one selected Official Online Practice Test.
- The ACT Composite Score Calculator calculates Enhanced or Legacy composites, and STEM when both inputs exist, from 1–36 section scores.
- The ACT Score Chart is a static lookup: the 1–36 scale, official readiness benchmarks, worked examples and the form-specific conversion tables.
Use an official ACT score report when you need an official result. How typed numbers are handled in the browser is described on the Privacy page.
What conversion supports
Correct-answer conversion is limited to Official Online Practice Tests 1–4. Count only items the scoring key treats as scored. Exclude items marked Not Scored.
Other booklets are outside this site: third-party packs, classroom copies, and the paper Preparing-for-the-ACT.pdf form. There is no universal raw-to-scale table here. Each supported key has its own conversion numbers.
The home-page range is the lowest and highest result after the same inputs are converted through those four keys. It describes differences among the supported scoring tables. It is not a prediction interval for a later official ACT test.
How the numbers are checked
Composite and STEM formulas follow ACT’s published rules. Conversion uses four official online practice tests and four sections on each test — sixteen tables in total.
For each table the recorded page, section name, form code and scored-question maximum are checked against that test’s Scoring Key. The stored arrays are then checked for length, 1–36 range, non-decreasing values, endpoints and a few human-verified anchor cells.
A range is built in that order: convert each section on one test, compute that test’s Composite (and STEM when Science is valid), repeat for the other supported tests, then take the minimum and maximum. The site does not mix English from one test with Math from another to invent a wider range.
In the verified copies used here, Official Online Practice Tests 2, 3 and 4 share the same conversion numbers. Matching tables do not mean the test questions are the same, and later official PDFs may change.
Official sources
Composite rounding and the Enhanced / Legacy section lists follow ACT Understanding Your Scores. STEM is the average of the 1–36 Math and Science scores, rounded to the nearest integer with .5 rounded up, as stated in ACT’s Graduating Class Trends Tool Instructions.
Each scoring rule and each practice test in this project keeps its own source record. You do not need the internal file names to use the tools. The four conversion keys used here are:
